Pulled an all-nighter last night

In an effort to get my short project done before my new job starts tomorrow - I pulled an all-nighter last night. I started coding like a mad-man at 10:00 at didn't stop until 7:30 this morning. 5 hours of sleep, and I'm back at it again. Ugh, I'm a zombie - but very close to finishing the first release. I've written so much code this week that my fingers actually hurt and they're getting raw!

The good news is that I'll only be working a week at my new job - and then we're off on Vacation! We're planning on flying to San Diego (California) and road-trip up the coast to Oregon, where my parents live. Should be fun - we're looking forward to Napa Valley and the Redwoods. Anyone have any advice on what to see or what to do in CA, please let me know. We're currently planning 5-6 days to go from San Diego to Salem, OR.

You can't go wrong if you take highway 1 all the way up, a few places along the way of interest... Big Sur state park, Pebble Beach(17 mile drive), Monterey Bay Aquarium. If you head into silicon valley make sure you take highway 9 instead of 17, its a nice curvy road in the mountains. if your a baseball fan you need to see pacbell park, one of the best parks around. Even if you not a fan, its a nice place to check out on the bay. Make sure you get an order of gilroy garlic fries. I also recommend bodega bay north of san fran, a nice relaxing place to go... we hit a good sushi place up on highway 1... I belive its called Sushi Osaka. If you have time there is also the lost coast off of highway 1 in norcal country. Have a fun trip! as you can see, too much to do!

i'd have to second most of rich's suggestions. i wouldn't miss big sur. in fact, i'd attempt to stay in one of the many cabins within the town of big sur. we've stayed in ripplewood before and had an awesome time! small, rustic cabins on a river. also, if you're in big sur, i'd try to grab a cocktail at nepenthe. the most awesome place to catch a sunset if the fog doesn't roll in! they have a reasonable breakfast menu also. napa is cool, but it is very touristy and can get crowded on the weekends. as you get further north of san francisco, you might want to check out mendocino. cute town with great restaurants and plenty of good hikes in the redwoods! my wife and i stayed at the albion river inn a couple of months ago and it was fantastic! anyway, i'm sure you'll have a wonderful trip no matter what you decide to do!

In the San Francisco area, there are a TONNE of things to see. If you are in to fine art, the Palace of the Legion of Honor is a must see. The Oriental Art museum in Golden Gate Park are also good to see. San Jose has the Egyptian Museum as well as the Winchester Mansion. Fishermans Warf has good eating, and the walk up to Signal hill is worth the view of the city.

I lived in Sillicon Valley. I say Sigal Hill ( and have dinner in little ittaly right there, good luck parking). And for lunch, right over golden gate is marina county. VERY nice. You can rent a bike for the day from Fishermans warf, bike over Golden Gate, have lunch in Marina county.... spend time there, then take the fery back to Fishermans Warf. Then go to Signal Hill, have dinner in little Italy. A wet dream. .V
